About Aaron Lear

Biography

Dr. Aaron Lear worked as a social worker in Cuyahoga County before attending medical school. He graduated from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in June, 2003. He completed his Family Medicine residency at Case Western Reserve/UH 2006. He then did a Sports Medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and joined Cleveland Clinic Akron General in 2007.

Dr. Lear has clinical and educational interests in sports medicine, office based orthopedic procedures, point of care ultrasound , office based research and evidenced based medicine. He received his Masters in Evidence Based Health Care from Oxford, England in 2019. Presently he serves as Director of Research at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Center for Family Medicine and Associate Director of Sports Medicine. Nationally he serves on the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) Research Committee and is participating in the fellowship in building research capacity of the North American Primary Care Research Group (NAPCRG).

    Dr.Lear was very kind and informative. He listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions. I felt that Dr. Lear was concerned for my well being and cared about how my knee pain was affecting all aspects of my life.
