Biography
Dr. Alejandro Pita completed his medical school training at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He completed his surgical residency at the LAC+USC Medical Center/Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, and a research fellowship in abdominal transplantation and hepatopancreaticobiliary surgery in Los Angeles, California. He subsequently underwent fellowship training at the ASTS-accredited abdominal transplant and hepatobiliary surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Following completion of his fellowship training, Dr. Pita joined the Cleveland Clinic faculty, where he practices as a liver transplant and hepatobiliary surgeon. His primary areas of clinical interests include adult and pediatric liver transplantation, living donor transplantation, minimally-invasive hepatobiliary surgery, and medical education. He currently serves as Director of the Abdominal Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery Fellowship program and Director of Living Donor Liver Transplantation.
