Biography

Dr. Amre Nouh serves as Enterprise Chair of the Department of Neurology at Cleveland Clinic, providing strategic, clinical, academic, and operational leadership across the Neurological Institute enterprise-wide. In this role, he oversees neurology care delivery across Cleveland Clinic’s U.S. and international locations, advancing quality, safety, access, innovation, and patient experience across all neurological subspecialties.

A renowned vascular neurologist, Dr. Nouh has subspecialty expertise in stroke and cerebrovascular disease and is nationally recognized for his leadership in stroke systems of care and program development. Prior to his enterprise role, he served as Regional Chair of Neurology for the Cleveland Clinic Florida market, where he led transformative clinical and academic growth, expanded subspecialty services, achieved major program certifications, and launched novel neuroscience initiatives across the region.

Innovations & Patents

Dr. Nouh’s research focuses on stroke and cerebrovascular disease, with particular emphasis on large vessel occlusion stroke, in-hospital stroke care, stroke in younger populations, and rare causes of stroke. He is a nationally recognized leader in the development of stroke systems of care and best-practice standards, with a strong interest in integrating technology, data, and innovation to improve neurologic outcomes.

He has authored and coauthored more than 120 peer‑reviewed publications, abstracts, and book chapters and has served as a principal investigator and steering committee member for multiple global clinical trials. Dr. Nouh is a Fellow of the American Heart Association and served as lead author and vice-chair of the AHA Scientific Statement on best practice recommendations for in-hospital stroke.

In addition to his Cleveland Clinic leadership, Dr. Nouh was elected Chair of the Stroke and Vascular Neurology Section of the American Academy of Neurology, previously served as Chair of the Northeast Cerebrovascular Consortium, and was appointed to the Connecticut Stroke Task Force, reflecting his national influence in advancing stroke care, education, and advocacy.
