Biography
Dr. Antonio Lewis is an Internist and Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiologist with specialized training in the management of complex cardiomyopathies, cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support, pulmonary hypertension, and invasive hemodynamic assessment through cardiac catheterization.
He completed his Internal Medicine residency, Cardiovascular Disease fellowship, and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology training at Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Lewis is a strong advocate for exercise and exercise-based medicine and is committed to increasing public awareness of cardiovascular disease and prevention. He leads a county-wide coronary CT angiography program in Broward County designed to improve early detection of asymptomatic coronary artery disease. His academic work includes participation in multiple clinical trials, authorship of peer-reviewed publications with substantial citation impact, and contributions to textbooks in Heart Failure and Echocardiography.
He has also been involved in the development and implementation of heart failure discharge and care-transition management programs at Cleveland Clinic Weston. Drawing on his Hispanic background and clinical experience, Dr. Lewis has a particular interest in tropical cardiomyopathies, including Chagas disease, allowing him to care for diverse patient populations with complex and often under-recognized cardiovascular conditions. He is committed to multidisciplinary, patient-centered care and advancing systems that improve outcomes for patients with advanced cardiovascular disease.

It is the ultimate privilege to be a patient of Dr. Lewis. I was first seen my him in the ED as I was experiencing a heart attack. He has been in charge of my cardiac needs ever since. He is very thorough and listens intently and lays out a clean plan of care at each visit. I could not be in better care.
