Biography
Anubhav Garg, MD, FACC, is a general cardiologist in the Section of Regional Cardiovascular Medicine of The Tomsich Family Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute. He sees patients at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Physician Office Building, Akron General and Bath Health and Wellness Center.

Experience: Dr. Garg has more than 20 years’ experience in diagnosing and caring for patients with a wide range of cardiac disorders and diseases. He annually evaluates more than 2,000 echocardiograms and 2,000 electrocardiograms and performs nearly 100 transesophageal echocardiograms. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, adult comprehensive echocardiography and nuclear cardiology and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Education: After graduating summa cum laude from Cleveland’s Case Western Reserve University with a degree in computer engineering, Dr. Garg changed direction and earned a doctorate in medicine from Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis. He completed an internal medicine residency followed by a cardiovascular medicine fellowship with University of Michigan Health, Ann Arbor, Mich.
Dr. Garg has been a staff cardiologist at Akron General since 2013 and joined the Cleveland Clinic medical staff in 2024.
Research, Publications and Speaking: Dr. Garg has been a co-investigator on research studies at Cleveland Clinic and the University of Michigan. He has coauthored papers published in leading medical journals and a chapter in a cardiology handbook for hospitalists and presented research abstracts at national medical meetings.
About Dr. Garg: “I grew up in a family of engineers and always loved math and science. In college, I was undecided between engineering and medicine. In reflecting on my experiences as a hospital volunteer, I realized I liked interacting with patients and how special it
was to be able to take care of them in their time of need. This realization pushed me
towards a career in medicine. Within medicine, I was always drawn to cardiology due to a family
history of heart disease and the way it follows many engineering principles, such as fluid dynamics.”
Leisure Activities: In his leisure time, Dr. Garg enjoys hanging out with family and friends, reading books, watching movies, working out and playing sports, especially racket sports.
