Biography
Aquiles S. Martinez Hernandez, APRN, FNP-C, is an Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioner at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital. He earned his medical degree in 1989 from Universidad de Oriente (Bolívar State, Venezuela) and completed postgraduate training in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology in 2003 at Hospital Militar Central in Caracas, Venezuela. He pursued additional focused training in hip and knee surgery in Santiago, Chile, as well as arthroscopy-focused training in São Paulo, Brazil, and Miami, Florida, and has completed multiple international courses and continuing education programs.
He has served as university faculty in orthopaedic surgery and has taught anatomy and physiology in Venezuela and in the United States. He remains active in clinical research and continues to present internationally on musculoskeletal and orthopaedic topics. He completed U.S. graduate education as a Family Nurse Practitioner and currently provides evidence-based, patient-centered orthopaedic care within a multidisciplinary team.
