Biography
Avrum Jacobs, MD, is a staff physician in the Robert and Suzanne Tomsich Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute. He practices at Hillcrest Hospital where he is Director of the echocardiography lab. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography and holds Level II certifications in echocardiography and nuclear cardiography and is trained in cardiac computed tomography (CT).
Dr. Jacobs earned his undergraduate degree from Yeshiva University, New York, NY, and his medical degree at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, Md. He served a residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital followed by a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Chicago.
After completing his fellowship, he joined Cardiovascular Consultants of Cleveland, in Willoughby, Ohio. Since 2011 he has been with Heart and Vascular Institute of Cleveland Clinic in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.
Dr. Jacobs has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals on his original research related to cardiac imaging. He also has published reviews, case reports and abstracts and has served as a manuscript reviewer for the American Journal of Cardiology and Women’s Health Journal.
Dr. Jacobs is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.

He has it all! Compassion, skill and great listening ability. He has been my cardiologist for almost 20 years. I hate to leave but had no choice when I recently moved to Chicago. I''ve had a number of great doctors but I consider him the finest doctor I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He is a great asset to the Cleveland Clinic.
