Biography

Dr. Samuelson Bannow is the Director of Classical Hematology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Prior to joining CCF in October 2025 she completed medical school at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, OR, internal medicine residency at the University of California San Francisco, and hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA before returning to OHSU as faculty in the Knight Cancer Institute and the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Center at OHSU for 7 years.

Dr. Samuelson Bannow will begin her term as Editor in Chief of ASH Clinical News in January 2026, after serving as Deputy Editor and Associate Editor prior to that. She is a senior co-chair of the Thrombosis and Hemostasis Summit of North America biannual meeting for the 2024-2026 term. She also serves as a co-chair of the ASH Women in Hematology Committee, the Women and Thrombosis Committee in the VENUS (Venous thromboEmbolism Network US) network, and the Thrombosis Subcommittee in the Foundation for Women and Girls with Blood Disorders (FWGBD). She also serves on the Medical Advisory Committee for the FWGBD and the National Certification Board for Anticoagulation Providers and an Associate Editor for Research and Practice in Thrombosis and Haemostasis. She previously served as an Item Writer for the American Board of Internal Medicine Hematology board exam.

Dr. Samuelson Bannow completed a Masters in Clinical Research at OHSU in 2023. She completed the ASH Clinical Research Training Institute Program during the 2016-2017 academic year, the ASH Medical Educator's Institute during the 2017-2018 academic year and the ASH Advocacy Leadership Institute in 2024.
