Biography
Dr. DiLella completed his undergraduate studies at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He graduated cum laude with a degree in Psychology and was appointed to the Psi Chi honors fraternity. Dr. DiLella went on to earn his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed a rotating internship and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Midwestern University/Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. His residency training included specialty rotations with highly renowned surgeons at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Northwestern Memorial Hospital. During his residency training, Dr. DiLella was selected for an AO Trauma Fellowship. This program allowed him to train with accomplished orthopedic surgeons at the Spital Davos in Davos, Switzerland.
Following the completion of his residency, Dr. DiLella traveled to California to complete a Sports Medicine fellowship at the Los Angeles Orthopedic Institute. During his time there, he gained a vast experience with complex arthroscopic knee and shoulder procedures. He ultimately brought this experience back to Chicago and enjoyed many years of success. This lead to appointment as the head team physician and consultant for the Chicago Machine professional lacrosse team.
