Biography
Catherine Caponero, DO is a Staff Physician in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cleveland Clinic. She currently serves as the Specialty Quality and Safety Officer for the Obstetrics and Gynecology Institute. She has received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and her Master of Arts degree in Bioethics from Case Western Reserve University. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathy medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then completed her residency training at The Kettering Health Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program.
Dr. Caponero practices full spectrum obstetrics and gynecology. She provides healthcare throughout the course of patients’ adolescent and adult lives. She currently sees patients at Beachwood Family Health Center, operates at the Beachwood Ambulatory Surgical Center and Hillcrest Hospital, and attends deliveries at Hillcrest Hospital. She is passionate about improving the quality of care for patients and encouraging shared decision making.
Dr. Caponero is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Reproductive Biology, Obstetrics, & Gynecology at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. She also specializes in gynecologic ultrasound and is credentialed through the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. In addition, she is a certified practitioner through The Menopause Society. Finally, she has partnered with the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo to assist with obstetric and gynecologic care for their Great Apes.

Dr. Caponero provided a lot of space in a relaxed way for my questions and I really appreciate that. But I did feel subtly pushed into decisions based on her medical advice and would have appreciated being given more options and collaboration.

I LOVE Dr. Caponero. I have already recommended her to other friends. Her ability to relate to my exact experience is invaluable to me as a patient. She is around my age and able to speak to my concerns as a human and a Doctor. I hope we get to go through menopause and beyond together as well. She is absolutely amazing.

Dr. Caponero was very attentive and took the time to answer all of mine and my husband's questions about our first pregnancy. I truly felt that she cared about My overall health during pregnancy and my experience. I was very pleased with our appointment and I am very grateful to have her as my OB/GYN!
