Biography
Christine Jellis, MD, PhD, MBA is a Staff Cardiologist who specializes in multimodality cardiac imaging in the Robert and Suzanne Tomsich Department of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute at Cleveland Clinic. She sees patients at Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus.
Dr. Jellis is Vice Chair of Operations for the Heart, Vascular and Thoracic Institute, along with Director of Physician Alignment at Cleveland Clinic. She is Associate Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University and serves as the Professional Advancement Council representative on the Cleveland Clinic Enterprise Board of Governors.

Education and Training: A native of Australia, Dr. Jellis earned her medical degree from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. She undertook her internship, residency and general cardiology fellowship at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne, Victoria, followed by a doctorate in cardiac imaging at The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Queensland. From 2013 to 2015, Dr. Jellis was a fellow in advanced cardiac imaging at Cleveland Clinic and joined the Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute staff in July 2015. She graduated with her Executive MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University in 2024.
Publications and Research: Dr. Jellis has published more than 80 scientific papers in cardiology and cardiac imaging peer-reviewed journals and is a regular presenter at national and international medical conferences. Her primary research interests are in: valvular heart disease, cardiac sarcoidosis, pericardial disease, diseases of the thoracic aorta, radiation associated heart disease, diastolic dysfunction and right heart dysfunction in the setting of pulmonary hypertension.

I have been seeing Dr. Jellis for almost 10 years and she is the best. She allows my wife to attend with me (post-Covid) and my wife appreciates the annual updates. She was wonderful when my valve issues were discovered and she explained the options to my wife and me.

I visit Dr. Jellis for an annual follow up for my heart value repair at the Cleveland Clinic. Her schedule is not released until several months after I visit so knowing when to call and schedule can be problematic. Her office always finds a way to fit in my appointment so this is very much appreciated.

I cannot express enough how fantastic Dr. Jellis is. She is a fantastic doctor, and very gifted in her delivery and all aspects of our interactions. During my visit I learned that, despite being asymptomatic that I will need open heart surgery. She acted expertly, kindly, and quickly to further evaluate my case, and keep It moving forward since. What is most amazing is Dr. Jellis' ability to assemble the gestalt out of what must be a complex array of data points and then, having seen through that maze a clear course of action, describe it to the patient (ME!) in terms that are compelling and reassuring: all pretty phenomenal.
