Biography
Dr. Christopher Roxbury is a rhinologist and endoscopic skull base surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic. He practices the full spectrum of rhinology, including taking care of patients with inflammatory and neoplastic pathologies of the nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, and anterior cranial base. He has specific clinical interests in caring for patients with spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid leaks and both benign and malignant sinonasal tumors.
Dr. Roxbury earned his M.D. from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he subsequently completed his residency training in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. After residency, Dr. Roxbury elected to pursue fellowship training in neurorhinology at the Cleveland Clinic, where he practiced as a staff surgeon from 2018-2019.
From 2019 – 2024, Dr. Roxbury practiced at the University of Chicago, where he served as the director of endoscopic skull base surgery and helped grow this program into a North American Skull Base Society Multidisciplinary Team of Distinction. While in Chicago, Dr. Roxbury also earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration with concentrations in econometrics, statistics, business analytics and operations management from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Dr. Roxbury’s academic interests include improving healthcare safety and quality, and optimizing healthcare delivery and medical education. He is an active researcher, having published over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles to date. He is also the co-editor of the textbook Cerebrospinal Fluid Rhinorrhea: Comprehensive Guide to Evaluation and Management, published in 2023.
Dr. Roxbury is an active fellow of the American Rhinologic Society and member of the North American Skull Base Society. He currently serves as the chair of the American Rhinologic Society Quality Improvement Committee and is an active member of the North American Skull Base Surgery Value Based Healthcare Committee. He is also the recipient of the 2024 American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Cochrane Scholarship, reflecting his passion for evidence-based medicine.
