I came in with a concern about shingles potentially spreading and general questions about shingles care since my initial diagnosis was from urgent care. She determined that the potential spread was a different infection but left the room twice, once to check skin condition chart and once to talk to another care provider. She initially told me she wanted me to make a same day appointment at dermatology but when she returned she gave me an Rx and told me to see derm if it doesn''t clear up. I asked for clarification since the last thing she had said before walking out was to do it right away so I was actually online making an appointment while I waited for her then she came back with a totally different plan without explaining her shift. I then said I had a question about my shingles pain and she held up her hand and said we had run over time and she couldn''t address it. I said I just wanted to know what I could do for it and she said she had another patient and we were cutting into his time. I said but this is why I came here and you were out of the room for half our appointment. She said its not your fault - which was amusing since I certainly didn''t think it was my fault. I was literally crying in frustration since I had spent so much time trying to see my primary and then getting in to see her to ask about the shingles and I was leaving with nothing. She said, how about I see that patient and call you. She did call me which I appreciated, but even then her manner was particularly caring. I get it, I''m not her regular patient and she needs to see a ton of people in a short amount of time but she could have been a little more caring about it. I''ve seen a ton of medical professionals who can still make you feel seen in the allotted time. I know she has a lot of pressure but it was a disappointing and frustrating visit. Luckily I saw my primary the next day and he was lovely.

The appointment was a total waste of my time and limited energy. The onlyPositive thing about this appointment is that I never have to deal with the provider or practice again!

Despite limited time for my appointment because of check In problems, care provider spent bulk of remaining appointment time reading my hospital record to me ( I had already read It but obviously she had not); Refused to help me with a presciription renewals, ignored my tears of frustration and need for help, minimized my health problems, offered me new age solutions to my serious health problems( need for a more positive attitude) and seemed to be blaming my problems on me.

I feel like I was not really a part of the decision making of treatment and plan going forward. She just kind of told me what to do and when I asked questions she doubled down and did not give any alternative solutions.
