Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic as a faculty member, she did her residency training at the Cleveland Clinic. She was chosen to serve as Chief Resident and completed one year as internal medicine teaching faculty in that role. She also completed fellowship training at Cleveland Clinic and served as chief fellow during that time. She is actively involved in professional societies such as International Myeloma Society, American Society of Hematology, and American Society of Clinical Oncology.
