Biography
Dr. Mireles-Cabodevila is the Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at the Cleveland Clinic. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. His current interest and work is on improving team dynamics to improve patient care. His areas of clinical interest are critical care medicine, application of mechanical ventilation, acute and chronic respiratory failure and extracorporeal life support.
He has a special interest in education in critical care, and in specific on the use of simulation to enhance and accelerate learning. He is currently the Medical Director of the Simulation and Advanced Skills Center. He has developed, along with the Critical Care Simulation team, several courses and devices to enhance the training of our health care providers. He works across the enterprise to facilitate access and processes to provide the best training and education to our caregivers.
Dr Mireles has a passion and a special interest in neuromuscular diseases affecting the respiratory system and the diaphragm. Along with Dr Loutfi Aboussouan, they attend at the Neuromuscular Pulmonary Clinic where they provide comprehensive respiratory care and specialized technological support (home mechanical ventilation, non invasive mechanical ventilation, cough augmentation, secretion management).
