Biography
Emily Slopnick, MD is Associate Staff in Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS), a division of the Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute, and Assistant Professor of Urology in the Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Slopnick specializes in female pelvic floor disorders, also known as female urology or urogynecology. Dr. Slopnick graduated summa cum laude from Miami University of Ohio in 2008 and attended the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai for medical school in New York City, where she graduated with a distinction in research in 2012. She then returned to her home region of Cleveland for residency and fellowship training at University Hospitals and MetroHealth Medical Center.
During her early attending career, Dr. Slopnick has become board certified in Urology and URPS and is an member of the American Urological Association and the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction. She has become involved in many ongoing research projects addressing pelvic floor needs, with a focus on optimizing office-based procedures, and has an active role in recruiting and teaching residents and fellows. Dr. Slopnick partners with her patients to provide both surgical and non-surgical treatments to a wide variety of pelvic floor disorders, including pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, neurogenic bladder, urethral diverticuli, and pelvic pain. She enjoys working with patients to find long term solutions to these issues that can severely impact quality of life.
