BIOGRAPHY:
Gareth Reid, MD, FACS is a fellowship-trained urologic oncologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers and complex conditions of the urinary tract and male reproductive system. He joined Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital in 2026 and provides comprehensive urologic care with a focus on advanced cancer management, minimally invasive surgery and robotic-assisted techniques.
Dr. Reid's clinical interests include bladder cancer, kidney cancer, prostate cancer, testicular cancer and penile cancer, as well as complex open urologic surgery, hematuria evaluation, kidney stone disease and minimally invasive treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). He is experienced in robotic-assisted surgical approaches designed to help improve precision and patient recovery.
A native of Jamaica, Dr. Reid earned his medical degree from the University of the West Indies and completed residency training in both general surgery and urology at the University Hospital of the West Indies in Mona, Jamaica. He subsequently pursued advanced fellowship training in urologic oncology, including a fellowship at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Health System.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Reid has held academic and leadership roles throughout his career. He served as President of the Jamaica Urological Society and has contributed to medical education, resident training and research focused on urologic cancers and outcomes. His scholarly work has been presented at national and international meetings and published in peer reviewed medical journals.
Dr. Reid is committed to providing personalized, evidence based care for patients facing both common and complex urologic conditions. He works closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans that emphasize the latest surgical cancer treatment advances while supporting patients and their families through out every stage of care.
