Dr. Romero-Velez earned his medical degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México Facultad de Medicina in 2014, graduating with honors. He completed foundational training in general surgery with early residency at the National Institute of Medical Sciences & Nutrition in Mexico City, followed by further advanced surgical residency training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. He also completed an internship in general surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center at Mount Sinai and advanced fellowship training in endocrine surgery through the Cleveland Clinic.

Board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Romero-Velez is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing him to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population. His clinical practice encompasses adult and pediatric endocrine surgical care across multiple Cleveland Clinic campuses, including the Main Campus, Marymount and Lutheran Hospitals.
