Biography
Holly L. Thacker MD, FACP, director of the Cleveland Clinic Center for Specialized Women’s Health and Professor, Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. She published her second women’s health book “Cleveland Clinic Guide to Menopause.” Dr. Thacker is the Executive Director of national Speaking of Women's Health and directs the digital platform www.speakingofwomenshealth.com and directs CustomFit Physicals for women.
She was honored by the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) and the Journal of Women’s Health with the "Lila Wallis Women’s Health Award" in recognition of Dr. Thacker’s lifetime achievements, accomplishments, motivation, mentorship, energy and enthusiasm for women’s health, education, and research during the AMWA annual meeting and Women’s Health 2009: The 17th Annual Congress, in Williamsburg, VA.
In the Center for Specialized Women’s Health, we pursue leading edge and interdisciplinary therapies for women with a focus on menopausal and hormone risk assessment and therapies. We have started CustomFit Physicals for women to provide a uniquely personalized healthcare service that combines convenience and comprehensiveness in a one day visit with the service of a nurse navigator. In addition, there are several new FDA approved pelvic floor stimulators that are available for women with urine leakage and pelvic muscle weakness as well as fecal incontinence and mild degrees of pelvic organ prolapse. These new pelvic floor stimulation devices are custom-fit and use stimulation to strengthen pelvic floor muscles and inhibit overactive bladder muscles while giving visual biofeedback and audible guidance. Precise adjustments can be made to ensure effective muscle training. Some women, who have only stress urinary leakage, and/or are 6 weeks post partum from vaginal delivery, may need simpler devices and all therapies can be done in the comfort and privacy of ones home. These devices can compliment, or in many cases be used instead of surgery or medications.

I have been a patient of Dr. Thacker for over 10 years. I have nothing but respect for her. She really cares about me and in a respectful manner makes me take ownership of my health. I always tell her she is the type of physician who tells you what I need to hear, not necessarily what I want to hear. Frankly, we need more of that in health care. Thank you Dr. Thacker!!!

This was my second visit with Dr. Thacker, and it was completely different than my initial visit. Dr. Thackers bedside manner was questionable at best during my initial visit, however, the treatment plan she prescribed has changed my life, So I attended my follow up visit. I am glad I did! Dr. Thacker seemed to be a bit more caring this time, explained things to me, and answered any questions I had. I am very grateful for everything that she has done for me.
