Biography
A native of southern California, Dr. Weisstein graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors as Valedictorian from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City in 1998. Simultaneous with his medical education, Dr. Weisstein received a Masters of Public Health at Columbia University in New York, NY. He subsequently completed his surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency training at the University of California, San Francisco and then went on to receive fellowship training at he University of Washington.
Dr. Weisstein specializes in joint replacement and limb salvage surgery. His interest lies in the restoration of function limbs that are in jeopardy, either from arthritis, tumors, trauma, or other conditions. He has taught residents and fellows state of the art orthopaedic surgery at major academic medical centers including the University of Washington Medical Center, one of the top orthopaedic institutions in the nation. Dr. Weisstein continues to teach other orthopaedic surgeons the latest orthopaedic surgery techniques including direct anterior hip replacement and customized/robotic knee replacement. He is a reviewer for several major orthopaedic journals and has published extensive journal articles and over a dozen book chapters. Dr. Weisstein also serves as an oral Examiner for the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
