About Jessica Fesler

Biography

Jessica R. Fesler, MD, MEd, FAES, is a board-certified neurologist and epileptologist at the Cleveland Clinic Epilepsy Center, where she has been on staff since 2017. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of seizures and related disorders, especially drug-resistant epilepsy, including helping patients navigate presurgical evaluations.

Dr. Fesler earned her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, where she graduated with special distinction. She completed her neurology residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, followed by a two-year specialty fellowship in epilepsy at the Cleveland Clinic with advanced training in surgical evaluation.

She is a clinician educator, completing a Master of Education in the Health Professions from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Fesler serves as the Program Director of the Cleveland Clinic Epilepsy Fellowships and Education programs and serves as Director of the Year II Neuroscience Course at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. Her contributions to medical education have been recognized with multiple teaching awards, including the Kaiser-Permanente Excellence in Teaching Award and the Neurology Faculty Excellence Award. 

Dr. Fesler is active in national and international education initiatives in epilepsy. She serves in committee roles in the American Epilepsy Society and International League Against Epilepsy. She is also involved in curriculum development, mentorship, educational research, patient advocacy.

She, however, would cite her biggest accomplishment to be her three children. She is most proud witnessing their shared joy of learning and how they spread love and kindness in the world.

    Dr Fesler listened and took the time to understand my medical history as well to understand what happened on the day of my seizure. She thoroughly explained the treatment plan and option. She is very caring and compassionate. She made me feel very comfortable. I highly recommend her!

    I was very pleased and happy with the amount of time that Dr. Fesler and her assistant Dr. Howard gave me and how thorough they were and going over every aspect of my file and symptoms. I felt very secure and safe in Dr Fesslers care!
