Biography
John N. Bibawy, MD, FACC, FHRS, is a board-certified Cardiac Electrophysiologist dedicated to advancing the care of patients with complex heart rhythm disorders. He completed his Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease training at Northwell Health/Hofstra University in New York, followed by subspecialty fellowship training in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Rochester’s Strong Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Bibawy’s clinical expertise spans the full spectrum of arrhythmia management, with a special focus on atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardias, ventricular tachycardia, premature ventricular complex (PVC) ablations, and bradyarrhythmias. He is highly experienced in device-based therapies, including subcutaneous defibrillators, leadless pacemakers, and advanced pacing strategies such as conduction system pacing, biventricular resynchronization, and deep septal lead implantation. He also offers leadless pacing approaches for both atrial and ventricular bradyarrhythmias.
He performs a wide range of complex ablation procedures using state-of-the-art electroanatomical mapping, cryoballoon and radiofrequency techniques, pulsed field ablation (PFA) for atrial fibrillation, and PVC ablations. His practice also incorporates innovative fluoro-less approaches that enhance patient safety, supported by advanced imaging modalities such as intracardiac echocardiography (ICE).
In addition, Dr. Bibawy performs left atrial appendage closure procedures using both the Watchman and Amulet devices. He frequently combines atrial fibrillation ablation with left atrial appendage closure in concomitant procedures, offering comprehensive rhythm control and stroke-prevention strategies in a single setting for appropriately selected patients.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Bibawy is actively involved in teaching the next generation of cardiologists and electrophysiologists, providing hands-on training to cardiovascular fellows. He is equally committed to community-based education, regularly delivering lectures and presentations to raise awareness of cardiovascular health and the latest advances in arrhythmia care.

Dr.Bibawy addressed all my concerns at initial meeting regarding my condition and showed a positive way I didn''t believe was possible to proceed. Dr. Bibawy reviewed all of my pertinent medical reports, answered all of my questions , discussed treatment options , took the time to explain everything to me and my husband . I feel blessed to have been assigned to Dr J Bibawy in 2025 (after the ElectroCardiologist who attended to me in 2024, Dr Y Rodriguez, left CCF-Weston) .. Initially I was concerned when Dr Bibawy recommended that the Ablation procedure done in 2024 be repeated .. I went along with his recommendation, and Dr Bibawy performed the (second) Ablation on me in June 2025 .. He and I, now c.7 months later, are both pleased with the outcome of this second Ablation ..
