Jorge Manrique, MD, earned his medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. Following medical school, he was appointed by the National Cancer Institute of Colombia where he contributed to multiple research initiatives focused on advancing cancer care. Driven by a strong commitment to academic excellence and patient-centered medicine, Dr. Manrique subsequently completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at one of Colombia's premier training programs. 

Recognized early for his dedication to research and complex clinical care, Dr. Manrique pursued advanced subspecialty training in the United States. He completed a fellowship at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, on of the nation's leading centers for joint replacement surgery. There, he received comprehensive training in total hip and knee arthroplasty, with particular focus on primary total joints, periprosthetic joint infection, revision surgery, and complex reconstructive procedures. He further advanced his expertise at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Oncology, refining his skills in limb-sparing surgery and tumor reconstruction.

An accomplished academic surgeon, Dr. Manrique has authored and co-authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and contributed multiple book chapters, including updated concepts published by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). Most notably, he served as an author and editor for the Second International Consensus Meeting on Musculoskeletal Infection, helping shape global standards for the management of complex infectious conditions. 

Dr. Manrique is board-certified by the Colombian Society of General Surgery and the Colombian Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology. He is an active member of several leading professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS), the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society, and the Musculoskeletal Infection Society. 

His clinical practice focuses on orthopaedic oncology and hip and knee arthroplasty, with specialized in complex tumor reconstruction, revision joint replacement and infection management. He also has a strong interest in direct anterior total hop arthroplasty, including both the conventional and bikini approaches, and has published extensively on these techniques to improve patient recovery and outcomes.

Dr. Manrique currently serves as Head of the Orthopaedic Department in the Weston region, Director of Surgical Operations, and Head of the Sarcoma Program at Cleveland Clinic Florida. In these roles, he is deeply committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care, advancing multidisciplinary cancer treatment, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, innovation, and outcomes for his patients.
