Biography
Dr. Joyce Shin is a fellowship-trained endocrine surgeon whose practice is solely dedicated to the organs of the endocrine system (thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, and endocrine pancreas). She completed her medical school at the State University of New York of Medicine in Brooklyn and continued her general surgery residency training in New York at the Albert Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Shin matched at the Cleveland Clinic for her endocrine surgery clinical fellowship program in 2009 and was then recruited as a staff surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic. As the surgical director of the Thyroid Center, her interest lies in both benign and malignant thyroid disorders, from the routine to complex cases. Her clinical and research endeavors include identifying particular tumor markers for thyroid cancer, as well as optimizing surgical success in reoperative parathyroid operations.
