About Katherine Sheridan

Biography

Dr. Katie Sheridan graduated from the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine (now NEOMED) in May 2006. She did her family medicine residency at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio and graduated in 2009. Dr. Sheridan has always been interested in teaching and graduated from all three tracks (Leadership, Research and Teaching) of the Fellowship in Academic Medicine (FAME) at NEOMED. She served in leadership at several residencies before joining our program as Associate Program Director and Director of Obstetrics in 2019.

Dr. Sheridan has a wide set of clinical and educational interests including family medicine education, obstetrics, Hispanic health, urban underserved medicine, home visits and clinical research. She also has many special skills including Spanish language fluency, low-risk obstetrics including vacuum deliveries (no Caesarean sections), colposcopy, IUD insertion/removal, and Nexplanon® insertion/removal.

She takes a leadership role in many aspects of the residency including the resident didactics, evaluations, and faculty scheduling. In addition, she is Chair of the Clinical Competency Committee.

Dr. Sheridan and her husband Ben are busy raising five children and enjoy many outdoor and family activities.
