Dr. Kathleen Petro is a highly skilled and compassionate ophthalmologist dedicated to providing top-notch eye care for adult patients. With a focus on both preventative care and the treatment of various eye conditions, she is committed to helping her patients maintain clear vision and overall eye health.
Dr. Petro completed her medical degree at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, where she was elected President of her class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society for academic and clinical excellence. She graduated with Honors in Research. Following her medical training, she pursued a residency in Ophthalmology at Emory University Eye Center, recognized as one of the top ophthalmology training programs in the country. There, she gained expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of eye disorders, from common refractive errors and cataracts to complex conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, eyelid disorders, and diabetic retinopathy. She broke the record for the most cataract surgeries done in one day. She is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and regularly updates her skills with continuing medical education to stay at the forefront of advancements in the field.
Dr. Petro is passionate about educating her patients and believes that informed decisions lead to better outcomes. I called to tell them they scheduled my appointment with the wrong doctor, not Dr Petro but a retinal specialist. I went on My Chart and sent a note to the doctor and I have now received a note telling me that they will be contacting me to reschedule the appointment.

We leave in Cleveland, OH but there were no available appointments anytime soon so we had to travel to Stow/Akron to see Dr Petro and it was worth the drive!
