Biography

Leigh Ann Kerns, MD, is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, and staff physician in the Center of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology and in the Cleveland Clinic Food Allergy Center of Excellence at Hillcrest. She sees pediatric patients at the Hillcrest Medical Office Building #2 location in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.
 
Dr. Kerns is board certified in Pediatrics and Allergy/Immunology. She completed her undergraduate degree in biological sciences at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana. She earned her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Kerns completed a residency in Pediatrics and a fellowship in Allergy/Immunology at Children's Memorial Hospital/Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.
 
Dr. Kerns is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Asthma Allergy and Immunology, the American Academy of Asthma Allergy and Immunology, and the Cleveland Allergy Society.
 
Her specialty interests include food allergies, food allergen desensitization, oral immunotherapy, asthma, eczema, allergic rhinitis, drug allergy, allergen immunotherapy, and immunodeficiency.  She has served as an investigator in research studies related to food allergy and immunodeficiency, and she has published peer reviewed articles in the fields of food allergy and immunodeficiency.
