Dr Macdonald is a fresh breath of air in the cardiology department. His approach is one of understanding the reason for the visit, ordering multiple tests to assist in a diagnosis and interpreting them as a whole to determine appropriate treatment. He does not jump to conclusions or consider unnecessary procedures. I have already referred all my family and friends to him for cardiac care.

This was my first appointment with Dr. McDonald. He was fully prepared, having reviewed my records with electrophysiology and having studied the ambulatory EKG that was ordered in advance of the meeting. He explained that the precipitating cause of ongoing atrial fibrillation was most likely my low heart rate and the PVCs created by that. We discussed medication strategies and lifestyle strategies. He was very thorough and I left with a concrete plan and an understanding of what was happening medically
