Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists collaborate with industry to advance medical breakthroughs. These partnerships help commercialize discoveries for public benefit while maintaining scientific integrity. To ensure transparency and minimize potential bias, Cleveland Clinic reviews these relationships and publicly discloses when physicians/scientists receive significant compensation for consulting, serve in fiduciary roles, receive royalties, or hold equity interests related to their work. We manage potential conflicts through approval processes, annual reporting, and targeted management plans.

As of 2026-03-20, Dr. Williams has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing.

In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Dr Williams and HIS staff work very well together. As a medical provider, the Clinic (in my experience) does poorly to get ALL the providers (Primary and Specialists) to consider the overall health concerns as a TEAM. Each is good by themselves, but not so well as a team.

I deeply appreciated the consideration showed me by all concerned on scheduling the pre-operative visit with Dr. Williams.

Due to my own lapse, Dr. Williams was not adivsed of my 11/18 surgery (Tuesday) until the weekend before. My Monday appointment was scheduled presumably as a courtesy to me. Dr. Williams carefully and thoughtfully discussed with me an EKG issue that arose during my pre-admission visit. His careful consideration of the issue made possible my being approved for the Tuesday surgery. He recommended a plan to follow-up on the EKG issue post-surgery. I was deeply grateful for Dr. William's in depth consideration of all of the circumstances, and I apologize for delaying his involvement.
