About Melissa Kalessa

Biography

I’m a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in Gastroenterology at the Cleveland Clinic. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Ursuline College and have been proud to be part of the Cleveland Clinic team since 2007. Before becoming a Nurse Practitioner, I worked as a registered nurse for over 10 years, caring for patients in a variety of hospital and outpatient settings.

As a Nurse Practitioner, my experience includes roles in Hospital Medicine and both inpatient and outpatient Urology. My nursing background spans over six years in Perioperative Services—focused on pre-operative, post-operative, preadmission testing, and endoscopy—as well as roles in cardiac step-down, medical-surgical nursing, and long-term care.

I’m passionate about building trusting relationships with my patients and believe in providing compassionate, high-quality, and personalized care. My goal is to make every patient feel heard, supported, and confident in their care plan.
