Biography
Michael R. Bloomfield, MD, is a staff physician in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Cleveland Clinic, and Associate Professor at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. He completed orthopaedic residency training at Cleveland Clinic, and a fellowship in hip and knee reconstruction at the Rothman Institute/ Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery.
Dr. Bloomfield specializes in all aspects of knee and hip replacement surgery. His specific interests include robotic-assisted knee and hip replacement, same day discharge joint arthroplasty, and the direct anterior approach for total hip arthroplasty. He currently operates at Cleveland Clinic Mentor Hospital and the Main Campus, and sees patients in the orthopaedic office at Hillcrest Hospital.
In addition to clinical practice, he is active in research and education. He is also a volunteer contributor to several professional organizations, and educates surgeons nationally on robotic joint replacement techniques.

Although I rank Dr. Bloomfield very highly, I am having a complication post-op that I did not understand could happen and it is affecting my life a lot. I am having a tendon injection which will hopefully help me. Needless to say I am worried because of the discomfort I am having which I did not have before surgery.
