About Omar Lababede

Biography

Omar Lababede, MD, is Associate Staff in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology at Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus. Dr. Lababede came to Cleveland Clinic in 1996 for externships in thoracic imaging and neuroradiology. His interests include digital image manipulation and medical illustration in PowerPoint.

In 1992, Dr. Lababede earned his medical degree from Damascus University in Damascus, Syria. He completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at Damascus University Hospitals and then moved the United States for the externships as well as a fellowship in the Department of Radiology at Cleveland Clinic.

To continue his medical career in the US, Dr. Lababede completed an internship and residency in diagnostic radiology, followed by a fellowship in pediatric radiology, also at Cleveland Clinic. He is board-certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology and is a member of the American College of Radiology and of the Radiological Society of North America.

A reviewer for the American Journal of Roentgenology, Dr. Lababede has done a number of presentations and lectures. He is presently a co-investigator in a study, which looks at the efficacy of computer-aided detection in combination with chest X-rays for early lung disease screening.
