Title
Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon
Biography
Peter J. Ciolek, MD, is a fellowship-trained facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon specializing in cosmetic rhinoplasty, revision rhinoplasty, and complex nasal reconstruction. He is double board certified in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, with advanced training in both the aesthetic and functional aspects of face and neck.
Dr. Ciolek's approach to rhinoplasty emphasizes natural-looking results that complement each patient's unique facial features while preserving or improving nasal function. His extensive reconstructive experience informs his approach to complex nasal anatomy and the unique challenges of revision rhinoplasty.
Dr. Ciolek performs primary cosmetic rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty, utilizing both dorsal preservation and structural rhinoplasty techniques. He also treats patients with nasal obstruction, septal deviation, nasal valve collapse, and post-traumatic nasal deformities.
Dr. Ciolek has a particular interest in reconstruction of complex nasal and facial defects following Mohs surgery for skin cancer. Drawing on his expertise in advanced reconstructive techniques, he works to restore natural appearance, contour, and function, even in challenging cases requiring multistage reconstruction.
In addition to rhinoplasty and nasal reconstruction, Dr. Ciolek performs facial rejuvenation procedures including facelift and neck lift surgery, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), brow lift, and injectable treatments. His reconstructive practice also includes treatment of facial paralysis and synkinesis, as well as microvascular free tissue transfer for complex defects of the face, head, and neck.
Dr. Ciolek graduated magna cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed residency training in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Cleveland Clinic and subsequently completed an American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery–sponsored fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
