About Prakash Kotagal

Biography

Prakash Kotagal, MD, is a member of the Pediatric Epilepsy Section at Cleveland Clinic.

His research interests include epilepsy surgery, vagus nerve stimulation, seizure symptomatology and the relationship between sleep and epilepsy.

He attended medical school at the Jawaharlal Institute in Pondicherry, India, and received his medical degree from the University of Madras. He received his training in pediatrics at St. Louis University and pediatric neurology at Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Kotagal went on to complete fellowships in EEG, clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy at Cleveland Clinic, and he also trained in pediatric sleep disorders at Children’s Hospital, Boston.

He has published many papers in journals such as Neurology, Epilepsia, Epilepsy Research, Archives of Neurology, Journal of Pediatric Neurology, Pediatrics, Pediatric Neurology, Seminars in Pediatric Neurology  and Seizure.

He is also editor of the textbook "The Epilepsies: Etiologies & Prevention," and he has also written many book chapters related to epilepsy and sleep. He is on the advisory board of the Epilepsy Association in Cleveland.

    Highly impressed! Very thorough and helped my daughter understand. Best part, was only having to tell her story to one person. This always causes her so much anxiety, and it was greatly appreciated only have to go through it one time.
