About Rashmi Rao

Biography

Dr. Rashmi Rao is a staff physician in the Department of Heart, Vascular & Thoracic and the Division of Cardiology & Cardiovascular Medicine in the Children’s Institute at  Cleveland Clinic Children's and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. She completed her pediatric cardiology fellowship at Rady Children’s Hospital, University of California San Diego and a fourth year non-invasive imaging fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Children’s. Dr. Rao serves as the Co-Director of the Section for Neurodevelopment and Psychosocial Health in the Division of Cardiology & Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Heart, Vascular & Thoracic. She is also the Associate Director for the Fetal Cardiology program. Her clinical interests include fetal cardiology, neurodevelopmental outcomes in pediatric CHD patients, and non-invasive imaging. As a collaborative scientist, her research interests include exploring prenatal predictors of outcomes in congenital heart disease, perinatal outcomes in prenatally diagnosed CHD, impact of early neonatal interventions in neurodevelopmental outcomes in CHD patients, and exploring the impact of neurodevelopmental follow up on outcomes. She sits on the Cardiac Neurodevelopment Outcomes Collaborative (CNOC) Quality improvement Committee and is involved in a number of initiatives aimed at improving neurodevelopmental outcomes in the congenital heart disease population.
