Biography
Richard R. So, MD, is a pediatrician at Cleveland Clinic Children’s. He sees patients at the Independence Family Health Center and Broadview Heights Medical Center.
Dr. So is board certified in general pediatrics. He completed his undergraduate degree in biology at The Ohio State University, and he earned his medical degree from University of Santo Tomas, Faculty of Medicine & Surgery in Manila, Philippines. His post-graduate training includes an internal medicine/pediatrics internship at University Hospitals of Cleveland and Case Western Reserve University, followed by a three-year pediatric residency at Rainbow, Babies & Children’s Hospital, University Hospitals of Cleveland. He also completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship at Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas at Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, SC.
Dr. So has contributed abstracts and presentations at a number of professional association meetings. He also has been a lecturer, course instructor and invited speaker for a number of institutions and media outlets

Dr. So''s bedside manner is unmatched. My sons are very different ages and he is able to relate to both of them in their level. He provides health information in a way that matters to the patient. For example he gave Daniel tips on how to prepare for football season like hydration and proper fueling for workouts. It stuck with Daniel and we talked about it afterward. It''s not easy to get through to a teen, but Dr. So can!

Dr. So goes above and beyond to educate us as well as treat each of my children's needs. He doesn't just address the here and now issues, but he addresses the future issue trajectories and that's been very impactful to me and my daughter.

Dr.So did an amazing job of quickly realizing our daughter needed to go to the ER for further evaluation and eventually surgery. He set it up and got us out the door quickly. Very grateful for him!!

Dr So has been taking care of both my boys for last many years. He connects with them and at the same time is able to meet my needs as a mother. He is truly amazing and both my teenagers really respect and listen to him. Model PCP !!
