Biography
Dr. Ryan Mak, MD is a board-certified family medicine physician who specializes in men’s health. He completed his fellowship in Men’s Health and Genitourinary Medicine with the Cleveland Clinic Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute. His clinical interest includes benign prostate enlargement, erectile dysfunction, male voiding dysfunction, testosterone management, Peyrione's disease and issues involving male sexual health. While often focusing on medical urologic care, Dr. Mak’s practice incorporates comprehensive men’s health and management of issues such as cardiovascular and metabolic health as well as lifestyle medicine and preventative health.
Dr. Mak is passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles particularly for the aging male population. He strives to help men feel welcomed when discussing sensitive men's health issues that are often not comfortable to mention.
Dr. Mak completed his family medicine residency at Northwestern McGaw and earned his medical degree at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. He also holds a master’s degree in Social Philosophy from Loyola University Chicago.
Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Mak is a regular CrossFit athlete and enjoys staying active in the gym or outside walking and exploring nature. He enjoys following sports, especially basketball and football.
