Biography
Dr. Steele is the President of the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus Submarket. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point (1994). Earned medical degree from University of Wisconsin in 1998. Completed residency in general surgery at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA (2003) and fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the University of Minnesota Medical Center (2005). On active duty from 1998-2015, including four combat deployments, and serving at Madigan Army Medical Center as a colorectal surgeon and Associate Program Director of the General Surgery Residency Program. Was the Division Chief of Colorectal Surgery at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, as well as Vice Chairman of Clinical Affairs and Associate Director of Surgical Services for the Digestive Health Institute, prior to being named the Chairman of Department of Colorectal Surgery here at the Clinic Clinic in 2016 to 2024.

Always a great experience talking with Dr Steele. Easy to talk to and genuinely concerned about me. Dr Steele was willing to perform a surgery he'd never seen because he knew I wanted to avoid having an external bag. He discussed the options and let me know he'd do whatever he could to save my internal pouch. I had all the faith in him that he'd try his best. And it worked! He gave me a new lease on life. I'm feeling better than I have in years. He never once gave up on me. I've had many surgeries and many doctors over the years but none as sincere and caring as him. I can't thank him and his staff for changing my quality of life

Since this was my initial visit with Dr. Steele and his nurse, they knew nothing about me and was apologetic that he couldn't give me any feedback on what is causing my issues. But my wife and I were so impressed with their desire to get to the root of my health issues, and Including us In the discussion on what tests he wanted to order to proceed further. Dr. Steele made us feel like they would get to the bottom of my Issues and begin a care plan.
