Biography
Simranjot Sahota, M.D. is an Internal Medicine Physician and has been practicing in the Akron area for over 12 years. Dr. Sahota specializes in treating adults in the primary care setting thereby giving her the opportunity to combine clinical diagnostics on a wide range of complex and common chronic conditions with a personalized and compassionate approach to medicine.
Dr. Sahota obtained her medical degree from Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) and Associated Hospitals in New Delhi, India. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Akron General in 2010. She practiced Hospital Medicine for many years and then transitioned to Primary Care along with Hospital Medicine.
Dr. Sahota is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the Northeast Ohio Medical University and is a core faculty member at the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Sahota serves as the Assistant Program Director and the Director for Quality Improvement for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Cleveland Clinic Akron General.
As a core faculty member at the Internal Medicine Residency Program, she works closely with resident physicians and medical students with a focus on providing them with a sound training in the outpatient clinic and inspire them to choose Primary Care as their specialty. Through the outpatient clinic program, she helps them build not only necessary clinical skills but also cultivate broad capabilities such as quality improvement that are necessary to adapt to dynamic and ever evolving challenges in today’s healthcare. She firmly believes that developing a strong Primary Care network is at the heart of delivering a better working healthcare ecosystem.
Dr. Sahota is a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.
She is fluent in Hindi and Punjabi in addition to English which helps her provide optimal care to her patients.
Dr. Sahota’s special interests are outpatient medicine, preventative medicine, and quality improvement.
Dr. Sahota currently lives in Copley, Ohio.
