Biography
Sri Sivalingam MD, MSc, FRCSC, is Associate professor of surgery at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. He is Director of the Center for Endourology and Stone Disease at Cleveland Clinic’s Hillcrest Hospital. He is the Director of the Endourology and Stones fellowship program, and heads up the research division for urinary stone disease.
Originally from Canada, he earned his Bachelors, Masters, and Medical degrees at the University of Toronto, and subsequently completed his urology residency at the University of Manitoba. He then completed a two-year fellowship in advanced Endourology and Minimally Invasive Surgery with a strong focus on urinary stone disease at the University of Wisconsin. He is board certified by both the American Board of Urology and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Sivalingam's primary surgical, clinical and research interests include the treatment and prevention of urinary stone disease with several peer reviewed publications in this area. He also has expertise in laparoscopy and robotic surgery of the kidneys and ureters. He currently heads the research division for urinary stone disease and is the co-director of the fellowship program in stone disease.
Amongst several research studies and clinical trials for kidney stone disease, Dr. Sivalingam is the principal investigator for the Prevention of Urinary Stones with Hydration (PUSH) trial at Cleveland Clinic, which is sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The PUSH study is a multicenter trial has begun enrolling patients to evaluate the role of specific behavioral interventions to prevent the development, progression and recurrence of urinary stone disease (USD) in adults and children. Dr. Sivalingam is a fabulous urologist and that is why I continue to make the 50 minute drive to see him for my needs.
