About Sujithra Velayuthan

Biography

I am a physician trained in pediatric gastroenterology. After my medical school graduation in India, i did my residency in Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, Shreveport. After graduating out of residency, i worked in North Carolina as a pediatrician for 3 years. I did my fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at UH Rainbow babies and children's hospitals, Cleveland and worked as a pediatric gastroenterologist there with special interest in neurogastroenterology and motility for 2 years. I then proceeded to do an additional year of training in neurogastroenterology and motility at Nationwide Children's hospital, Columbus. After this, I started to work at Cleveland Clinic as a pediatric gastroenterologist with expertise in neurogastroenterology and motility.

I am an active member of American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN) and American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society (ANMS).

I have finished an additional year of training in pediatric neurogastroenteorlogy and motility after my pediatric gastroenterology fellowship out of my interest in treating patients with motility issues.
