Biography
- Timotheus G. Watson, MD, is a pediatric cardiologist in the Children's Institute, Department of Heart, Vascular & Thoracic, Division of Cardiology & Cardiovascular Medicine, at Cleveland Clinic Children's. He cares for infants, children and adolescents with congenital and acquired heart disease, with a particular focus on advanced cardiac imaging.
- Dr. Watson returned to Cleveland Clinic in July 2026, rejoining the institution where he completed his pediatrics residency. His clinical interests include general pediatric cardiology, preventive cardiology, fetal cardiology, echocardiography and outreach pediatric cardiology.
- Dr. Watson earned a Bachelor of Science in biology, with a minor in psychology, from Morehouse College and his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He completed his pediatrics residency at Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital, followed by a pediatric cardiology fellowship and an additional fourth-year advanced cardiac imaging fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in both General Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology.
- Before returning to Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Watson practiced at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta for ten years, where he served as Director of the City Call Consult Service and as Chief Medical Information Officer.
- Dr. Watson has a longstanding interest in clinical informatics, provider efficiency, and clinical documentation improvement. He serves as a member of the Pediatric Cardiology Steering Board for Epic Systems Corporation. He is an active educator and invited lecturer, and has published peer-reviewed research on echocardiographic assessment of right ventricular pressure, radiation dose in pediatric cardiac imaging, and imaging for congenital heart disease.
