Biography
Dr. Krishnamurthy is a board-certified, fellowship-trained endocrine surgeon who specializes in surgery for the thyroid, parathyroid glands, adrenal glands, and select abdominal and retroperitoneal neuroendocrine tumors. Born in San Francisco and raised in St. Louis, he graduated from the combined undergraduate-medical school accelerated program at the University of Missouri in Kansas City in 2008. In 2014, he completed general surgery residency at Rush University Medical Center and Cook County Hospital in Chicago, serving as Administrative Chief Resident in his final year. In 2015, following comprehensive endocrine surgery fellowship at Cleveland Clinic, he finished surgical training and achieved board certification by the American Board of Surgery. In 2015, he joined the Department of Endocrine Surgery at Cleveland Clinic where he maintains a high-volume endocrine surgery practice including laparoscopic surgery, in-office ultrasound, fine-needle aspiration biopsy, and laryngoscopy of the vocal cords.
Beyond his surgical practice, Dr. Krishnamurthy is passionate about medical education, clinical research, and quality improvement. He is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. In addition, he is the Associate Program Director of Cleveland Clinic’s general surgery residency curriculum and Director of Education for the Department of Endocrine Surgery. His educational interests include improving professionalism, communication, quality, and diversity and inclusion within surgical education. In 2016, he competed an additional research fellowship in surgical outcomes at Cleveland Clinic and is an active investigator of health services, healthcare delivery, population disparities, and postoperative outcomes. Dr. Krishnamurthy has won numerous teaching awards and speaks and presents research at national and local professional conferences throughout the year.

The doctor was on top of my family history of thyroid disease. He used an ultrasound and got almost identical outcomes with my CT and nuclear medicine test. Impressive.
