Vinay Pai, MD

Vinay Pai, MD, FACC, is a general cardiologist in the Section of Regional Cardiovascular Medicine of The Tomsich Family Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute. He sees patients at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Physician Office Building, Akron General, Bath Health and Wellness Center and Wadsworth Express and Outpatient Care.

failure, valvular heart disease, arrhythmias, preoperative risk stratification

Experience:  Dr. Pai has more than 10 years’ experience in caring for patients with heart and valve diseases. He has expertise in transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), transesophageal 
echocardiography (TEE), cardioversion, stress echocardiography and nuclear stress testing for diagnosis.

Dr. Pai is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Education: Dr. Pai holds medical degrees from Padma Shree Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College of Padma Shree Dr. D.Y. Patil University, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, and
Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College of Nagpur University, also in Maharashtra. He completed internal medicine residencies at Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital in Wardha, Sawangi, Maharashtra, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Long Island College Hospital, Brooklyn, N.Y., serving as chief resident in his final year. He continued his training as a fellow in cardiovascular disease there and at State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, also in Brooklyn.

Dr. Pai joined the Akron General staff in 2013 on completion of his fellowship and was named to the Cleveland Clinic medical staff in 2024.

Research, Publications and Speaking: Dr. Pai has published patient case studies in medical journals and authored a chapter in an echocardiography manual for physicians in the urgent care setting. He has made numerous poster presentations at national medical conferences and meetings.
