Professional Highlights

Leading the Cardiology program at Marymount since 1982.

Lobbied the ODH and the State of Ohio to allow Hospitals less than 250 beds to have a level one diagnostic cardiac cath labs. 25 Hospitals in Ohio opened up cath. labs, 4 of them are in the Cleveland Clinic System.

Working with Dr. James Young on the CHF CCF Ad Hoc committee we received the Codman Award by the joint Commission in 2001, which was the first of its kind to a large hospital system in the US.

I spear headed and established a CCHS CRO for the East side Hospitals, 2002-2011. Several Clinical research projects went through the CRO for several years. It was then folded into the CCF CRO.

Working with Dr. Randall Starling, we initiated an Ad Hoc committee to establish the H to H program for CCHS. It then got folded into the general Quality Improvement programs of the system.

As the CMO at that time, I was on the early negotiation steps that lead to Marymount joining the Cleveland Clinic in 1995. I played an active part in the process.

Consequently, I was a member of the Medical Operations Council of CCHS for many years, even after changing its name and structure, up to 2017.
