Biography
Xiangling Wang, MD, PhD, is a Staff Physician in Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Personalized Genetic Healthcare (CPGH) and Department of Kidney Medicine. She is the founding director of the combined CPGH-Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute (GUKI) renal genetics program. She sees patients on Main Campus.
Dr. Wang is one of very few double trained nephrologists and medical geneticists in the United States. She earned her MD degree from Shandong Medical University in Jinan, China, and her PhD degree from the Shanghai Jiaotong University, in Shanghai, China. She completed her medical genetics fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and nephrology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas and Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California.
Dr. Wang is an assistant professor of molecular medicine in the Case Western Reserve University Lerner College of Medicine. She has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts and book chapters and has presented at numerous national and international conferences. Dr. Wang has been invited as a grand rounds or guest speaker by multiple national and international academic institutes. Dr. Wang is an advisor serving north Ohio on the medical advisory board of National Kidney Foundation, an editing group member of International Society of Nephrology Academy and editorial board intern of Kidney International. She is a workgroup member for American College of Medical Genetics on practice guideline for living kidney donors genetic evaluations. Dr. Wang serves as an invited reviewer for a number of reputable journals, including Human Molecular Genetics, and as an abstracts reviewer for national and international conferences, including American Society of Nephrology Kidney Week.
